Tunica County Parks & Recreation is excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for the Tunica County Youth Development Job Readiness Program!
This program is designed to equip our youth with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed in school, the workplace, and life.
✅ Who Can Apply? • Youth ages 16–18 • Residents of Tunica County • Currently enrolled in high school, middle school, or a GED program
📅 Orientation September 24, 2026 🕔 5:00 PM 📍 G.W. Henderson, Sr. Recreation Center
📚 Session I October 5 – November 18, 2026

🚨 A Message to Our Parents and Community 🚨
The safety and well-being of our youth will always be the highest priority of Tunica County Parks and Recreation.

We want to assure everyone that the Tunica Lions Football Program is a local travel program. Our teams travel only to nearby communities for scheduled games and return home the same day. We do not conduct overnight trips or sleepovers.

The Tunica Lions Football Program is proudly operated and supervised by Tunica County Parks and Recreation, follows the guidelines of the North Mississippi Youth Football Association, and operates under the umbrella of the Tunica County Government. Our program is committed to maintaining a safe, structured, and positive environment where young athletes can grow through teamwork, discipline, character, and sportsmanship.

We sincerely appreciate the trust our parents place in us and remain dedicated to providing a football program that emphasizes safety, accountability, and excellence.

Our Tunica Parks and Recreation Summer Day Campers had an amazing time in the pool today swimming with one of their favorite lifeguards, Mr. "All-Purpose" Walter Towns! 🏊‍♂️☀️

Mr. Towns always brings positive energy, encouragement, and plenty of fun to the Aquatics Facility, making every swim day a memorable experience for our campers. We appreciate his dedication to keeping our campers safe while helping them build confidence and enjoy the water.

🎨🏆 Congratulations to all of the talented participants in Ms. Gordon's Art Exhibit Competition at the Tunica Parks and Recreation Summer Day Camp!

Our campers proudly showcased their creativity, imagination, and artistic skills through a variety of amazing artwork. We are incredibly proud of each participant for their hard work and dedication throughout the competition.

A special thank you to Ms. Gordon for encouraging our youth to express themselves through art and helping them develop their creative talents. The exhibit was filled with outstanding pieces that highlighted the unique abilities of our campers.

Our Tunica Parks and Recreation Summer Day Campers had a fantastic time during their visit to the Memphis Children's Museum! 🎉

Campers explored a variety of interactive exhibits, participated in hands-on activities, and enjoyed learning through play. The trip provided a fun and educational experience while allowing campers to build friendships and create lasting summer memories.
