The Whitfield County Schools Summer Nutrition Program will begin June 1, 2026, and continue through July 30, 2026. In addition to meal sites, families can also find information about Summer Reading and Special Performances taking place throughout the summer on select dates. All sites will be closed July 3.

REMINDER: The last day of school (Friday, May 22) is an Early Dismissal Day. Elementary Schools will dismiss at 11:50 a.m., and middle/high schools will dismissal at 12:50 p.m.

As we wrap up another great school year, we hope all of our students, staff and families have a safe, fun and restful summer!

We are mourning the loss of our dear friend, colleague, and teacher Mrs. Kelly Mardis. She was a light to all the students and staff at THE and in the community. Please share a memory you have of Mrs. Mardis, and be thinking of her family during this time.

It is with a mix of bittersweet emotions and immense joy that we announce the retirement of Jan Ruud, Niki Rann, Connie Kopcsak, Stephanie Cassidy, and Tracy Hargis.

Over the years, they have served our students as mentors, teachers, and been the heart of the school. While we are going to miss their daily guidance and bright spirits around the building, we couldn't be more excited for them to finally enjoy the rest and relaxation they so richly deserve. While we refuse to say goodbye, we will instead say thank you for your service to Tunnel Hill Elementary. We wish you the best on the next part of your journey. Congratulations on your retirement!

This Friday T.H.E will be having our Kinder Kamp from 10:00 to 11:00 AM!! This is a great way for upcoming 2026-2027 kindergarteners to get a taste of how much fun next year will be. We hope to see you there!
