Come celebrate the Boro's 150th anniversary with an open house at the Boro building on Saturday August 8th from 2 to 4 PM.
A free gift for the first 50 visitors. Enjoy a hot dog and a cold drink. Tunnelhill boro historian Allen Lego will be on hand with interesting facts, and artifacts and to answer your questions.

This Saturday, July 11, the Big Boy will be going thru the New Portage Tunnel at approx. 10:00 AM. Tunnelhill Boro is very proud to be a part of Big Boy's journey back home to Cheyane, Wyoming.

We would like you to be aware of traffic modifications for the event. Portage Street will close at 8:00 AM, as will Pine and Spruce streets. Sandusky Street will be open, but be aware of heavier than normal traffic.

We anticipate a large walking crowd on Portage street, and the complete closure will help ensure pedestrian safety. Residents on Portage street may enter and exit on Tunnelhill Street only, but please try to minimize your travels Saturday morning

For safety's sake, DO NOT attempt to venture onto or near the tracks for a better view, a selfie, or any other photography. This is a 600 ton locomotive and tender with several cars and a diesel locomotive back up. If you get too close, or fall on the tracks, it's not going to get stopped. Railroad police can and will arrest you for trespassing.

Stay safe and enjoy seeing this piece of railroad history!

SAFETY FIRST: With grass mowing season well underway, please avoid blowing your grass clippings onto the roads. This creates a hazard for motorcyclist. If you can't avoid it, please clean the clippings off the road.

For your protection: Any person, business, or organization that wants to engage in door to door solicitation must have a permit issued to them by the Boro. If anyone comes to your door, ask to see their permit. For your safety, do not invite anyone soliciting door to door into your home, regardless of permit.
If your business or organization wants to engage in any kind of a door to door campaign, you must obtain a permit from the Boro council. There is no cost involved.
Currently, there are no active solicitation permits issued.

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mike Taddei. Mike was a pillar of the community. He served the residents of Tunnelhill Borough for nearly 50 years, mostly as Borough Council President. Mike was devoted to his loving family and community. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28 from 2 to 4 pm, and again from 6 to 8 pm at the Gibbons-Houser Funeral Home. Funeral will be held Friday May 29th at 10:00 am at St. Demetrius Catholic Church.
