Good Afternoon! Our first day of school for the 26-27 school year will be Wednesday, August 12, 2026. A bus schedule and information regarding our Back to School Family Picnic will be posted in the first week of August. Please note that the district office and the Elk Hills School campus will be closed 7/1/26-7/31/26, if you need information during this time you can email Mrs. Touchstone or Miss Pate. Be on the lookout in mid-July for correspondence from Mrs. Touchstone regarding other important information for the 26-27 school year. We hope you all have a restful, enjoyable break and we look forward to seeing all our students and families in the upcoming school year! See the calendar below for important dates and please plan vacations around scheduled days off so students do not miss important learning time.

Looking for something fun to do with your kids this week? Head on over to the Tule Elk Reserve from 10AM-2PM on Friday, June 12th for Art in Parks Festival! The event is free, but a day-use fee does apply. The Tule Elk State Natural Reserve is located at 8653 Station Rd. Buttonwillow, CA 93206. See the flier for more information!

I apologize, but I cannot deliver. Bags may be picked up starting Thursday, May 28th through Friday, June 5th (except weekends) until all bags are gone. One per household. Tomorrow, 5/27, our students will have a water day in the morning and an awards assembly in the afternoon. We will have a regular dismissal at 3:00pm. Please see the post for the snack bar menu that will be open during the water activities. Every student will receive a complimentary snow cone!

Be on the lookout for Summer Camp registration forms! All incoming TK-8th student are welcome to sign up and join us for a DEEP DIVE into learning during the month of June! Students will be immersed in math, reading, art, and enrichment programs to help them stay above water as they get ready to swim into the next school year! Any students who do not miss more than two days of summer camp will be treated to a fun-filled day of immersive learning at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach on the last day of summer camp. Summer camp runs June 1-June 30 from 8:30AM-1:30PM. Breakfast and lunch provided. We will also have the aftershool program during this time from 1:30PM-4:30PM. Transportation will be provided for summer camp students, but there is no transportaion for students staying in the afterschool program. If you need a registration form, please contact the office at 661-765-7431. Forms are due by Friday, May 22nd.

Elk Hills annual Water Day will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026! We will have a cash-only snack bar, please send money in a ziploc bag with the student's name written in permanent marker on the outside. Students must wear school-appropriate swim attire in order to participate. Please be sure to send a change of dry clothes, a towel, and sun screen. This will be a regular dismissal day, with school ending at 3PM.

Water Day Schedule:
TK-K: 9AM-10:15AM
3-5: 10:15AM-11:30AM
6-8: 11:30AM-12:45PM

Dear TK, K, and 1st Grade Parents,

This is just a reminder that tomorrow, May 21, our TK, Kinder, and 1st grade classes will be visiting The California Living Museum (CALM). Please ensure that your student wears comfortable ​shoes and brings a water bottle if possible! The students will be eating ​a school lunch (or their own ​packed lunch) at CALM. Graduations for both our kindergarten and 8th grade classes are around the corner! We would love for you to join us as we celebrate the classes of 2026. The kindergarten graduation will be held at 9:00am and the 8th grade graduation will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 28 in the auditorium. We look forward to seeing you there!
