To go along with our recent purchase of airbags here we have battery operated extraction tools, a.k.a. the "jaws of life". These are tools that we hope we never have to use but when we do, it’s usually a race for time. With the purchase of this set of tools, we now have exracation equipment at all five of our fire stations. From time to time people ask or want know how their money is being spent in the fire service, equipment we use is not cheap. You’re looking at $32,000 worth of equipment in this picture. How much is saving someone’s life worth?

Firefighters don’t just put out fires. Today’s fire department deals with all hazards. These hazards may include lifting a vehicle off of an object or persons that are trapped underneath what you’re seeing is one of our latest acquisitions. These are high-pressure air lifting bags each bag is capable of lifting 22 tons a maximum of 10 inches.
