We would like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped make the purchase of our new Cascade Air System possible!

A special thank you to AEST,our salesman Chad Donaldson, and the NCOSFM State 50/50 Grant Program for helping provide the funding and support needed to bring this equipment to our department

This new Cascade system is a major addition to our department and will help us keep our firefighters’ SCBA bottles properly filled and ready to respond when our community needs us.

We truly appreciate everyone who played a part in making this possible. Investing in our firefighters and equipment is an investment in the safety of our community.

Did you know?
Motor vehicle crashes remain one of the leading causes of death for teenagers.

Quick Safety Tips
🚗 Always wear your seat belt.
🚗 Eliminate distractions such as cell phones.
🚗 Obey posted speed limits.
🚗 Never drive impaired or ride with an impaired driver.

Remember
Safe driving habits begin on day one. Parents should continue coaching young drivers long after they receive their license.

Our Safety Tip may be a day late, but safety is always timely. Safety Tip Tuesday (on wednesday)

School Bus Safety

As another school year begins, expect increased traffic around schools and neighborhoods.

Safety Tips

🚌 Stop and DO NOT pass whenever a school bus displays its stop arm and flashing red lights, except for instances shown in the attached image where you are not required to stop for a stopped school bus.
🚌 Slow down in school zones and be especially alert during arrival and dismissal times.
🚌 Watch carefully for children who may be crossing the street or walking near the roadway.
🚌 Put away distractions and stay focused while driving.

Remember
Children can be unpredictable. Slowing down for just a few seconds can prevent a lifetime tragedy.

We had a busy day finishing up our fundraiser on Tuesday and did not get to post our weekly safety tip message. So here is our delayed "Safety Tip Tuesday" for August 11th, 2026

Topic: Downed Power Lines

A downed power line should always be considered energized.

Stay Safe
⚡ Stay at least 30 feet away.
⚡ Never drive over downed lines.
⚡ Report them immediately.
⚡ Keep children away.

Remember
Electricity is invisible. Always assume power lines are live until utility crews say otherwise.
