Turlock Scavenger Turlock Scavenger Turlock Scavenger Company has been owned and operated by the Marchant family since 1935.

The Company received the first franchise contract from the City of Turlock in 1947. Since that time the franchise has grown to over 20,000 residential customers. The Company also picks up residential waste in portions of Stanislaus county. We pick up industrial and commercial waste in both the City and the County.

In honor of “Learn About Composting Day” we wanted to highlight how to properly separate organic waste into the green cart. Keeping contamination out of the green cart helps us create a cleaner organic pile that can be properly composted by our partners. ♻️🌎

Composting Reminders:
🌱Green Cart = organic waste only (ex. grass clippings, leaves, tree branches, food scraps)
🚫 No Contamination (ex. plastic/compost bags, treated wood, metal, rocks, concrete, furniture, blankets 👀)

Turlock Scavenger is looking for a motivated individual to join our team this summer!

Position: (Summer) Part-Time Buyback Attendant
Schedule Days: Vary
Operation Hours: Mon - Fri 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM; Saturdays 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Requirements:
✅ Must be available on Saturdays
✅ Must be 18 years or older

💚 TSC Highlights: Meet Jose!

This week, we’re excited to highlight Jose, our Roll-Off Dispatcher! Jose plays a key role in coordinating the daily scheduling and logistics of our roll-off trucks, helping ensure drop box containers are delivered and serviced efficiently throughout the community.

One of the things Jose enjoys most about his role is working with computers and databases, solving complex problems, and continuing to learn new skills along the way. He also appreciates the opportunities for growth and development here at Turlock Scavenger.

Outside of work, Jose enjoys spending quality time with his girlfriend and their two cats. 🐾❤️

🌎🚛 Celebrating Earth Day with Hilmar Elementary

We had the honor of visiting Hilmar Elementary this week for an Earth Day truck presentation! It was a great opportunity to connect with students and share more about what we do every day to help protect our environment.

From recycling to composting, students learned how small actions can make a big difference and got an up-close look at our trucks and operations. ♻️🌱

🌎💚 Happy Earth Day!

At Turlock Scavenger, sustainability is part of what we do every day. Here are 4 things we do to reduce our environmental impact and support a cleaner, greener community:

🌱 Composting: We collect organic waste and send it to our composting partners where it’s transformed into nutrient-rich soil.

♻️ Recycling: From curbside pickup to our Buy-Back Center where we buy CRV Refund items, we help send recyclables to a facility that gives materials a second life.

🚛 Cleaner Fuel: Our trucks run on CNG/RNG (natural gas), helping reduce emissions on the road.

📄 Paperless Billing: Customers can opt for paperless billing in Online Billpay to cut down on paper waste.
