Modesto, Stanislaus, and Turlock Fire (MST) Celebrate Academy 26-1 Graduation and Promotional Badge Pinning.

On May 15, 2026, Modesto, Stanislaus, and Turlock Fire (MST) proudly hosted the graduation ceremony for Academy 26-1 and a promotional badge pinning at the historic State Theatre in Modesto. Family, friends, and colleagues gathered to honor the accomplishments of our newest firefighters and celebrate career advancements within our organizations.

Academy 26-1 completed a rigorous 16-week training program designed to prepare recruits for the demands of the fire service. The comprehensive curriculum included fire behavior, vehicle extrication, emergency medical services, flood and swift water rescue, hose management, nozzle mechanics, and a wide range of other critical skills.

The ceremony also recognized promotions throughout the MST chain of command, reflecting the continued professional growth within our ranks.

We are proud to provide the highest level of training to our new firefighters and remain committed to delivering exceptional service to the communities we serve.

Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, and many families will be heading to local lakes, rivers, and pools to enjoy the warmer weather. If your plans include the Stanislaus River, Don Pedro, Woodward Reservoir, or any other water destination, make safety part of the fun.

The Life Jacket Loaner Program provides free life jackets for children and adults through participating fire stations across our region. There are no fees, no residency requirements, and sizes are available for nearly everyone.

Whether you are floating the Stanislaus River in Knights Ferry, boating with family, or spending the day by the pool, wearing a life jacket can save your life. Please remember that alcohol and water activities do not mix, and life jackets are not a substitute for adult supervision or learning how to swim.

Borrow one today. Return it when you can. Help keep our waterways safe this Memorial Day weekend.

Recently, crews stopped by a local park in the afternoon to spray some water for kids in the community. The kids were excited to take a break from their sports practices and cool off while running through the water. Thank you to Engine 34 for taking the time to make their day a little more fun and memorable.
