Millers Falls Rd/Industrial Blvd detour tomorrow morning and Tuesday morning 5AM-11AM

Please be advised that paving work will be taking place at the entrance to Industrial Blvd on Monday (8/24) and Tuesday (8/25) of next week between the hours of 5AM and 11AM both days. During this time, all traffic to the Industrial Park will be directed through a detour. Please drive slow through the detour and if you are driving through the area of Millers Falls Rd and Industrial Blvd please be aware of the construction zone and the changed traffic pattern. -2 Brush Fires Burn Over an Acre in Lake Pleasant Village-

Today members of both Montague Center Fire Department - Inc. 1941 and Turners Falls Fire responded to 2 separate brush fires in the village of Lake Pleasant, resulting in over an acre of land burned. Crews utilized chainsaws to cut their way in to gain access to both fires and were then able to quickly stop the spreading fires.
Assisting in extinguishing efforts was the Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation Forest Fire Control District 9. The Town of Erving Fire Department provided coverage to while crews were committed battling the fires.

Thank you to both Montague Police Department and Massachusetts State Police Shelburne Control Dispatch Centers for coordinating efforts today.

Today the fire service lost a true brother, mentor, and most of all, a friend.

Today, working in cooperation with our sisters and brothers of the Orange, MA Fire Rescue EMS, members of TFFD trained on water rescue maneuvers for skydivers on Lake Mattawa. Thank you OFD and Jumptown for having us!
