Due to the truck breaking down the trash/recycling route will not be finished today (6/22/26). Millers Falls Rd, Madison Ave, Wrightson Ave, Worcester Ave, Hillside Ave, Grove St, Goddard Ave, Riverside Dr, Chestnut St, Maple St, Unity St, Morris Ave, Alice St, Vladish Ave, some of Turners Falls Rd, and most of the Main St, School St, Center St section will not be done today. Casella is planning on having both Monday and Tuesday completed tomorrow.

The Town of Montague, MA is improving Main Street in Montague Center this summer with roadway safety improvements for people walking, biking, and riding transit. Grant funding for this project is provided through MassDOT's Complete Streets Funding Program. As part of a statewide study, MassDOT is gathering information on pre- and post-construction conditions. Before construction begins, we want to hear about your experience traveling on Main Street.

Road Closure & Detour Notice – Tuesday, June 2

Paving work will take place on:

All of Unity Street
3rd Street (from L Street to the top of the hill)
Millers Falls Road (from Turners Falls Road to Carlisle Avenue)

During paving operations, these roads will be closed to through traffic and open to local traffic only.

General traffic detour: Turnpike Road → Montague Street
Truck traffic detour: Turnpike Road → Montague City Road

Please use caution in the area and expect delays. We appreciate your patience during these roadway improvements.

MONTAGUE MEMORIAL DAY SERVICES

Sunday, May 24
Montague Center Common, 11:15am. The 250th anniversary of our country will be celebrated along with remembrance of our fallen veterans. The guest speaker will be WWII Army veteran Lee Evers who turned 103 years old this February. Refreshments served at the North Congregational Church. Hosted by the Montague Center Firefighters Association.

Veterans Soldier's Memorial Park
Avenue A in Turners Falls, 10am. Prayers and speeches honoring Montague residents who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces will be conducted by representatives from the Montague Select Board, Montague Elks and the Soldiers Memorial Committee. This event is open to the public.
