The ashes of Sean Misner, one of the 19 firefighters who died last week in Arizona, were being transported by his wife back to their hometown on Tuesday. She was in his truck and is pregnant with their unborn child. On every overpass for nearly 500 miles there was a tribute similar to this. Pretty damn remarkable and worthy of more media coverage than most of the other stuff that has been on tv lately. Wanted to share because our media has seemed to overlook it.

With it being storm season we would like to remind everyone if you come to the station for shelter please do not park in front of the bay doors . If you have someone that can’t walk or needs help you can pull up and we can help them in and downstairs. But please do not block the doors . Please park by softball field or east of the building

It is with great sadness that the Elmwood Fire Department must announce the death of Elmwood Fire Fighter Lynn Cross. Lynn was a founding member of the Elmwood Fire Department in 1988, served as the department secretary/ treasurer from 1990- 2020, and continued to be a valuable member of the department until his death on July 16, 2023. Lynn will be missed greatly by his brothers and sisters within the department. Our hearts and prayers go out to Lynn's family and friends during their time of grief.
