If you haven’t marked your calendar yet, now’s the time.

Every Thursday night, our volunteers are at the station training.

Not because they have to be. Because they know that when a call comes in at 2 AM, preparation is what keeps everyone safe - the people they’re responding to, and each other.

Our team drills on everything from donning and doffing PPE to vehicle extrication, and more. These are skills that matter when seconds count.

This is what neighbor-protecting-neighbor looks like behind the scenes.

When you live in our neighborhood, you’re not just a call in a dispatch queue.

You’re a neighbor. And when you need us, the people who show up know your road, know your family, and have been doing this since 1987.

That’s something worth protecting.

This fall, our community will have the opportunity to vote on Fire Protection District status - a step that secures a sustainable future for the department that’s been here for nearly 40 years.

Between now and then, we’re going to keep showing up. At events. At board meetings. In your neighborhood. Because decisions like these are made better when the whole community is informed.

Let's talk about what we're really voting for this fall.

For almost 40 years, this community has had neighbors show up. At 2 AM. In the middle of a storm. On a Tuesday when they could've been home with their families. That's what Englewood Hulls Volunteer Fire Department has always been — neighbors protecting neighbors.

Fire Protection District status is how we make sure that never changes.

Here's what it means for our community:

✔️ Dedicated, reliable funding so our volunteers have the equipment they need
✔️ Faster response times — because our people know these roads and these families
✔️ Stronger ISO rating, which keeps homeowner's insurance costs lower for all of us
✔️ A sustainable future for a department that's been here since 1987 — and will be here long after

This is our community deciding together that we're worth protecting. That our families are worth protecting. That the homes and lives we've built here matter.

When you call 911 in Englewood or Hulls, you're not getting a crew from somewhere else who has to find your road on a map.

You're getting us. People who know the backroads. People who know the families. People who've been doing this since 1987.

That local knowledge matters more than most people realize especially when every minute counts.

Fire Protection District status helps us protect that. It means dedicated funding for the equipment, training, and staffing that keeps our response times fast and our volunteers safe.

This fall, our community votes on whether to make that official. We want every resident to understand what's at stake before that day comes.

Come to a board meeting and ask us anything — first Monday of every month, 6:30 PM at the fire station. Open to everyone.
