TPL Weaver Bolden Branch Tuscaloosa Public Library's Weaver Bolden Branch is your local library on the west side of Tuscaloosa. The library is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.

The Weaver-Bolden Branch of the Tuscaloosa Public Library is located in the McKenzie Court apartment complex in West Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Monday-Thursday, and 1-5 p.m. Visit us to check out books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, and literacy teaching materials, to use the computer, and to print, fax, or copy documents. We also provide programs including storytime for preschoolers, daily after-school homewo

rk help for elementary school students, Teen Tech and Maker Space programs for kids and teens, and book discussions and computer classes for adults. Please give us a call to find out more about our services and programs! Established in 1948, the Weaver-Bolden Library was the first branch of the Tuscaloosa Public Library. The library is named for two community leaders: Dr. George Augustus Weaver (1871-1939), a physician, surgeon, and educator who supported the education of black students in Tuscaloosa through use of his personal library, and Mrs. Ruth Bolden (1910โ€“2004), the branch's founder and first librarian, and prominent local civil rights activist.

Simply follow the link on our digital resources page to get started. Tutoring is available 10am-11pm Sunday through Saturday in a wide range of academic subjects, with tutors teaching in both English and Spanish. Prep for the ACT, SAT, GRE, LSAT, and AP classes, submit writing or math for review, or get feedback on your cover letter. Make the 2026/2027 school year your strongest yet!
