Happy Forensic Science Week! 🔬

We want to recognize the work our Forensic Services team does examining fingerprints and fi****ms evidence right here at TPD.

They can take something as small as a fingerprint, a shell casing or markings on a bullet and use it to help connect evidence to a case.

Our lab is internationally accredited, something this team worked hard to earn through a lot of training and a lot of studying. We appreciate the work they do every day!

We are saddened by the passing of Council President Kip Tyner.

Councilor Tyner was a longtime supporter of public safety and of the men and women of the Tuscaloosa Police Department. Whether the issue affected District 5 or the city as a whole, he cared about the safety of the people he represented and was always willing to support our officers and our work.

We are grateful for his many years of service to Tuscaloosa.
