Water update 6/13/2026 - Illinois American Water has restored power at their water plant which had been down after the storm on Thursday evening. Water system operations have returned to normal.

Water Conservation Notice

Due to last night's storm, Illinois American Water is currently experiencing a supply/distribution issue affecting the system that serves Tuscola, Arcola, and West Prairie. Utility officials have asked communities to voluntarily conserve water while they work to restore normal service levels.

Residents are encouraged to limit water usage until further notice by:

-Delaying laundry and dishwashing when possible
-Avoiding lawn watering and other outdoor water use
-Taking shorter showers
-Turning off faucets when not in use
-Conserving water wherever practical

Your cooperation will help ensure adequate water supply is available throughout the system while crews address the issue.

GFL has notified us of a recycling service delay for today, June 8. Those customers scheduled for recycling pick up on Monday (TODAY) will be serviced tomorrow, Tuesday, June 9 ( Tuesday pick up should happen as scheduled)
THIS DELAY DOES NOT AFFECT REGULAR GARBAGE SERVICE

Memorial Day is a holiday for GFL, so Tuscola garbage service from GFL will be one day delayed this week.
