UPDATE: At approximately 9:45 a.m., Deputies located the suspect hiding in a field on Old Memphis Pike. After a short foot pursuit, the subject was taken into custody. Items believed to have been taken during the robbery were also recovered.

Release from the Sheriff's Office

At approximately 4:30 a.m. this morning, Deputies responded to a robbery in progress at a convenience store located at the intersection of Highway 247 and Highway 72.

When Deputies arrived on scene, they were advised that a white male entered the store armed with a handgun and fled with an unknown amount of cash.

A short time later, Deputies made contact with a truck approximately one-half mile from the store. The vehicle was occupied by a white female and a white male identified as Cody Edward Collins. Collins fled the scene on foot and is considered armed and dangerous.

Collins was last seen wearing black and red basketball shorts and white tennis shoes.

If you see him or have any contact with him, do not approach him. Notify 911 immediately.
