🚨 SCAM ALERT / WARRANT REMINDER 🚨

Just a reminder to the citizens of Colbert County: NO employee of the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office will ever call you and ask you to send money over the phone to take care of a warrant, fine, bond, or other legal matter.

Most warrants require in-person service. In the majority of cases, a warrant must either be served on you in person or recalled by a judge. If someone calls you claiming to be with the Sheriff’s Office and tells you that you can avoid arrest by sending money over the phone, it is a scam.

⚠️ DO NOT send money.
⚠️ DO NOT provide your bank account, credit card, or other financial information.
⚠️ DO NOT give the caller personal information.

If you are ever unsure about a call concerning a warrant or other legal matter, hang up and verify it yourself. Call the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office directly, or call the non-emergency number listed through Colbert County 911.

Please help us spread the word. These scammers often target citizens by creating a sense of urgency and fear. When in doubt, verify before you pay!

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of one of our own, Retired Sgt. George Sharp.

Sgt. Sharp dedicated his life to serving the citizens of Colbert County as a member of the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office. After his retirement, he continued his commitment to law enforcement by serving as an officer with the Tuscumbia Police Department.

Sgt. Sharp also dedicated countless hours to serving his fellow brothers and sisters in law enforcement through his work with the State of Alabama Fraternal Order of Police. His dedication to his community, his profession, and the people he served touched countless lives.

Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, fellow officers, and the many people whose lives he touched throughout his career and his life. There are truly so many.

Rest easy, Brother Sharp. We’ve got it from here.

We will post additional information regarding funeral services, including the date and time, as soon as it becomes available.

Gone, but never forgotten. 💙🖤

Today we conducted our annual active shooter exercise at Cherokee High School. We ran every SRO through an active shooter scenario. This training allows us to identify areas of improvement so we can provide a safer learning environment for our children. A special thank you to the Colbert County BOE, Colbert EMA,and the US Marshal Service. The safety of our children is our #1 priority.

🎓 Ready for Another Great School Year! 🏫

As we kick off a new school year, our School Resource Officers are trained, prepared, and ready to serve! 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

Our goal is to make this another safe and successful school year as we continue shooting for another year as one of the safest school systems in the State of Alabama.

Our SROs look forward to serving the students, teachers, staff, and families of Colbert County. More than just providing security, they are here to build relationships, support our children, and help create a safe, positive environment where every student has the opportunity to learn and succeed.

We are proud of our SROs and the commitment they make every day to protect and serve our schools.

Here’s to a safe, successful, and GREAT school year! 🇺🇸📚
