One thing I’ve appreciated about serving on the City Council is learning from those who came before me.

When I first got elected, then-Mayor McArthur Wright invited me to lunch just to get to know me. No agenda, no city business, just a conversation. That meant a lot to me, and I haven’t forgotten it.

As a millennial, I’m comfortable using social media to connect with residents, but I’ve learned that there are plenty of ways to stay connected. Some of my fellow councilmembers have spent decades building relationships through community organizations, local events, and everyday conversations with neighbors.

We all bring something different to the table, and I think that’s a good thing. I’ve learned a lot from my colleagues, and I’m looking forward to continuing the work we’ve started to move Twentynine Palms in the right direction.
