Rising Stars Therapeutic Riding Center

We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, founded in 2009. Rising Stars Therapeutic Riding Center provides both hippotherapy and therapeutic riding.

Rising Stars Therapeutic Riding Center is a 501 c3 providing therapeutic riding and hippotherapy to people with physical and developmental disabilities throughout southcentral Idaho. Hippotherapy is therapy conducted on horseback by a licensed, speech, physical, or occupational therapist. It utilizes the same goals set for patients in the clinic but challenges them further by employing the 3-dimen

sional movement of the horse. Therapeutic riding is conducted individually or in a small group session by a PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. These sessions focus on increasing individual riding skills while gaining a wide range of therapeutic Benefits.

A Difficult Goodbye to Our Beloved Tink

Making these posts is never easy, and saying goodbye to one of our therapy horses is one of the hardest things we do.

Tink gave us a good fight. As she continued to heal, we kept a close eye on her progress and continued monitoring her care. During that process, we had X-rays done and discovered that Tink had developed osteomyelitis, a bone infection. Unfortunately, this is an extremely difficult condition to treat in horses.
After consulting with our veterinarian, we were advised that the kindest and most comfortable thing we could do for Tink was to let her go peacefully.
We know so many of you were praying for her, cheering her on, and standing beside both Tink and our staff throughout this long and difficult road. Please know that this decision was **not made lightly**. As staff, making these decisions for an animal we love is incredibly painful. We wish we could save them all, but sometimes, despite everything we do, we simply can't.
We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who prayed for Tink, donated toward her care, helped care for her, checked in on her, and supported us along the way. Your kindness meant more than we can put into words.

And to Tink, we are forever grateful for the many blessings you gave to Rising Stars. You cared for riders, taught lessons, brought comfort, made memories, brought many laughs, and touched so many lives. Your job was so much more than being a horse. You were a part of our Rising Stars family. Run free, sweet Tink. 💕🐴
You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

🐴✨ Annual Horse Showcase: Smiles, Skills & A Whole Lot of Horsepower! ✨🐴

What a weekend! Friday and Saturday were filled with big smiles, proud moments, laughter, and LOTS of horse fun! ❤️ We loved watching family and friends come from near and far to cheer on each participant as they showed off the skills they’ve learned, the confidence they’ve gained, and the fears they’ve conquered this year. Those “I DID IT!” moments never get old! 🥹🐎

A HUGE thank you to everyone who attended, participated, volunteered, cheered from the sidelines, and supports Rising Stars through donations. You are a huge part of making these moments possible!

And now… we’re going on break! 🎉

Well… the horses and riders are going on break. 😂 The rest of us are heading straight into FULL FUNDRAISER PREP MODE! 📝🎟️🛠️ Because apparently, “break” is just a fancy word for “change hats and get even busier.” 😉

Lessons will officially start back up September 21! Until then, we’ll be behind the scenes getting everything ready for another amazing season.

💙 Tink Update 💙

Our girl is still holding strong. We haven’t given up on her, and she certainly hasn’t given up on herself. She keeps fighting, one day at a time. 🐴💪 She is still not out of the woods, and we are continuing to do everything we can to give her the best chance at healing. But in true Tink fashion, she has decided she has places to be and things to supervise. 😂

She’s been wandering around the ranch, going wherever she wants, checking things out, and reminding everyone that this place is still her kingdom. 👑❤️
We’re taking the good moments, celebrating every little bit of progress, and continuing to hope. If you can, please send some extra healing prayers for Tink this week. We know she has a whole army behind her, and we are so grateful for every prayer, message, and bit of support.

Keep fighting, Tink. We’re not done yet. ❤️🐴🙏

Some days leave a community forever changed.

In moments like these, we're reminded that life is precious, tomorrow is never promised, and the people around us matter more than the things that so often fill our days.

Today, hold your loved ones a little tighter. Reach out to the friend who has been on your mind. Tell people you love them. Choose patience over frustration, kindness over judgment, and compassion over assumptions. We never truly know what someone else is carrying.

At Rising Stars, we've seen healing begin with something as simple as a quiet moment, a gentle horse, a listening ear, or someone willing to stand beside another without trying to fix everything. Healing starts when we remind each other that no one has to walk through difficult days alone.

To every member of our community hurting today, please know you are seen, you are loved, and you do not have to carry your burden by yourself. We will continue to believe in hope, extend grace freely, and lift one another up, because that's what community does.

Today, and every day, let's choose love. ❤️

Turns out our horses checked the air quality before we did... and voted for a day off. 🐴💨

With the smoky skies, we swapped riding for communication games and activities during our Summer Equine Experiences lessons. No horses were ridden, but there was still plenty of learning, laughter, teamwork, and confidence building.

Our horses take great care of our participants, so today we returned the favor. ❤️ Some days the best lessons don't require a saddle!

Turns out, maintaining an arena isn't as simple as waving a magic wand... although we'd gladly accept one if anyone has a spare. 🪄😂

This week we hauled in some fresh sand to keep our arena in great shape for our riders and horses.

A huge thank you to Lazy S Up Trucking for hauling the sand, and to Eric and Shana Hunsaker at The Cow Camp for donating their time, tractor, and kiser to get everything spread out and looking amazing.

The horses may not send thank-you notes, but we're pretty sure they're already planning their next dramatic roll in all that fresh footing. 🐴🤣

We couldn't do it without the incredible support of our community. Thank you for helping keep Rising Stars rolling, even one load of sand at a time!

🌈 We always knew we'd find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow... we kind of did expect it to have four legs and a heart bigger than we could ever imagine. 🐴💛

Our horses are the true treasure at Rising Stars. They bring hope, healing, confidence, laughter, and love to every rider who walks through our gates. They don't wear gold—they are gold.

Every rainbow reminds us how blessed we are to have this incredible herd and the amazing community that helps us care for them. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us keep these precious "pots of gold" doing what they do best—changing lives, one ride at a time.
