Our thought are with everyone involved in this tragic accident. A big thank you to the public for staying back and allowing all the first responders room to work. Responses like these take a toll on the public, 911 dispatchers, police, fire, and EMS who responded to the call. They all worked together to help save the child’s life.
On June 22, 2026, at approximately 10:39 p.m., officers responded to the area of 700 Blk Pole Line Rd, in front of Costco, for a vehicle versus pedestrian crash involving a young child.
Based on the preliminary investigation, a vehicle traveling westbound, driven by an 18-year-old male, struck a 4-year-old boy who was crossing Pole Line with his older siblings in an area not designated as a crosswalk.
The child was transported from the scene by Air St. Luke’s with injuries that are unknown at this time.
We know this incident is heartbreaking for our community and deeply traumatic for everyone involved. Our thoughts are with the child, the family, and all those impacted by this crash.
We would like to thank Idaho State Police, Twin Falls Fire Department, Magic Valley Paramedics, and Air St. Luke’s for their response and assistance at the scene.
Lanes in the area were closed for approximately three hours while investigators worked to process the scene and safely reopen the roadway.
We understand many in the community have questions. We ask for patience and understanding as the investigation continues and officers work carefully to gather all the facts. We also ask everyone to be mindful that this was a traumatic event for the family, witnesses, first responders, and others involved.
The incident remains under investigation at this time. More information may be released at a later time.
