🧡Please see Dominic.
Dominic came to People for Pets Twin Falls Animal Shelter as a tiny kitten on 10/29/2024. He was adopted, and we thought he had found his forever home. We never saw him again until 8/31/2026, when he came back to us as a stray.
He arrived covered in scabs from fights on the streets. We scanned him and found his microchip.🧡 We were so relieved to know who he was, got him neutered, and tried to contact his previous home. But no one responded.
Now Dominic is safe, but he doesn't seem to know it.
He spends much of his time tucked behind his litter box, trying to make himself as small as possible. When you approach, he watches cautiously, unsure of what you're going to do. He doesn't ask for attention. He doesn't reach through the kennel for you.
But sit down beside him.
Start petting him.
And slowly, he lets you in.
He melts into your hand. He'll sit there and let you pet him as long as you'll stay. It's almost as if, for those few minutes, he remembers what it feels like to be loved.
But that's not Dominic. That's just the part of Dominic that is scared.
The real Dominic is still in there, a sweet boy who loves affection and desperately wants to feel safe again. He just needs someone willing to be patient enough to wait for him to believe that this time, someone is going to stay.
🏠 🧡Starting Tuesday, September 8, Dominic's adoption fee is FREE thanks to the ASPCA!
Please don't let this sweet boy spend another day hiding behind a litter box, waiting for someone who may never come.
He has already lost his home. He has already lost his confidence. Please don't let him lose hope, too.
If you can adopt Dominic, please contact People for Pets Twin Falls Animal Shelter. If you can't, please share his story.
Someone out there needs to see Dominic the way we do. Someone needs to sit beside him, earn his trust, and show him that he wasn't forgotten.
🧡Please be that someone. 🐾
