Firefighting is an inherently dangerous job. Theres many ways to mitigate that hazard to our firefighters and first responders.

We recently mailed residents our fund letter. In that letter we asked for any donations you would be gracious enough to give so we can help mitigate that hazard better.

Our helmets were old. Quite old actually. Most of them were older than some of our members are. Over time everything degrades. The helmets dont take impacts as well. The reflectors start falling off. The protective shields for our eyes begin to yellow from smoke exposure. And the inner liners begin falling apart.

In these situations this community never fails us. We asked and you all generously answered. Because of your donations we have so far replaced about 15 helmets, with more to be ordered as soon as our supplier restocks. So its out with the old and in with the new.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us continue to be safe while keeping all of you safe. This community is truly wonderful. We are all proud to serve such a wonderful community

A job like firefighting requires attention to details. Whether its "reading" the smoke at a working fire or keeping our equipment in clean working order, no detail is too small.

Last night we had our monthly station clean-up and equipment maintenance night. The fourth Monday of every month we make sure our apparatus and equipment are all clean and in working order to best serve our residents. We also use the time to help our newest firefighters become familiar with using our equipment and their PPE.

We were joined by a local photographer, Tricia, who was looking for some experience. She was gracious enough to share some wonderful photographs with us. Thank you Tricia!

The Randall Fire Department is proud to recognize Firefighter Tim Gaffron and Firefighter Justin Orzech for successfully completing the Driver/Operator Pumper course and passing the State of Wisconsin certification exam on Wednesday, August 6th.

This rigorous course, which began in early June, demanded a strong commitment, with both firefighters dedicating their Wednesday evenings and Saturdays throughout the summer. Their hard work and perseverance allowed them to develop the essential skills needed to safely and effectively operate the department’s fire engines.

With their newly earned certification, Firefighters Gaffron and Orzech are now fully qualified to drive the fire engine and take on the critical role of pump operator. This position is responsible for managing the engine’s pump system to ensure consistent and reliable water pressure during firefighting operations. As one of the most vital roles on the fireground, the pump operator’s performance is key to the success of fire suppression efforts.

The Randall Fire Department applauds both firefighters for their dedication, determination, and commitment to professional development. Their achievement not only marks a significant personal milestone but also enhances our department’s ability to serve and protect the community.

Tomorrow, Sunday, August 3rd, from 8:00AM to approximately 1:00PM, the Twin Lakes Fire Department will be conducting a Multiple Casualty Incident (MCI) training exercise at Randall Station 2 and Thelen Farm (both on 336th Ave).

This multi-agency drill will include participation from neighboring fire departments, multiple ambulances, the Kenosha County Hazmat Team, and Flight for Life. You may see a large presence of emergency vehicles, fire trucks, and personnel in the area.

👉 Please do not be alarmed — this is only a training exercise designed to prepare first responders for large-scale emergencies.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we train to better serve our community. 👨‍🚒👩‍⚕️🚑🔥
