This was our 3rd year of being a collection site for Summit County Children Services school supplies benefiting foster children, and we were overwhelmed by the heartfelt generosity of patrons, young and old! A special thanks to Thorson • Baker + Associates and the Rotary E-Club NEO!

Leah Rogers, Community Outreach Specialist at Summit County Children Services, said: "Please share our gratitude to all of the library patrons that contributed! We appreciate your continued support more than you know."

SCCS typically has between 700-800 children under their care, and the agency has reported a "foster care crisis" where the number of children needing care far outweighs the available local foster families.

Want to learn more about fostering? SCCS hosts free monthly virtual meetings. Scan the QR code or call 330-379-1990 to learn more.

Teams from Twinsburg Public Library, Akron-Summit County Public Library, Hudson Library, and Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library competed in a friendly match to see who could walk away the winners in the 20th year of Battle of the Books! Everyone read the same four books over the summer and met frequently with Library coaches to prepare for all the book-related questions they were going to be asked.

TPL's Team made a valiant effort, finishing in third place. We thank all nine of these enthusiastic students for participating; they were new to the experience, and you can tell they had a great time!
