The Two Harbors Police Department is receiving a report of an aggressive deer near Lakeview Park and 2nd Avenue, we believe there to be a fawn in the tall grass nearby. As always, be aware of your surroundings…we will check the area as much as we can. Have a great Sunday everyone!

As you know, the Final Leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is an annual event that we, your local law enforcement, look forward to. We always strive to make it a fantastic experience for everyone involved. However, due to time and personnel constraints, we are unable to participate in the event this year.

Even though we won't be able to participate this year, we encourage everyone to support our local chapter, the Lake Superior Lakers, by sending your donation to:

Special Olympics of Minnesota
Attn: Centralized Accounting
900 2nd Ave S, Suite 300
Minneapolis, MN 55402

Please include 03LSL or Lake Superior Lakers on the donation to ensure all the funds go to our local athletes.

Let's continue to show our support for these incredible athletes, and we hope to see you next year!

On Sunday, September 17, 2023, at approximately 6:54pm, law enforcement officers from the Two Harbors Police Department, responded to Rustic Creek Townhomes for a report of gunshots. With assistance from the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Patrol and St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, a search of the immediate and surrounding area was conducted, and those searches and other investigation determined the suspect was believed to have left the area shortly after the call for help was placed. The suspect was stopped and arrested on separate charges in the metro area of Minnesota later that same evening.

There is no current threat to the safety of the public. This investigation is currently active and ongoing.

As Chief of Police for the city of Two Harbors, and on behalf of the Two Harbors Police Department and our partners who have helped plan and prepare for a safe and successful event, I want the residents of Two Harbors to know and understand, your safety has always been at the forefront of our efforts.

The information below is intended to offer a limited view of what parking, traffic, a call for help, a complaint, our community, and the release of information may look like during THOMAS THE TRAIN.

THOMAS THE TRAIN and FRIENDS are here and we are expecting a lot of people in town for this event.

Thanks and Be Safe,

Chief Richard Hogenson

Residents are reminded and encouraged to utilize off-street parking when available.
