Worksite Wednesday!

The Jackson Street home is getting closer to completion! New kitchen cabinets, hardware, and ceiling fans are going in, and the bathrooms are taking shape. Plumbing and electrical work are complete, and we’re getting ready to turn on the power!

We’re on a mission this Mission Monday!

Another Critical Repair project is complete, and for Mrs. Susana Angulo, that means a safer and more comfortable place to call home.

Danny Saenz, our Critical Repair Project Manager, joined Mrs. Angulo as she signed the final paperwork following a bathroom remodel, new flooring, and the addition of a front porch handrail for added safety.

This is our mission in action—making repairs that help our neighbors continue living safely and comfortably in the homes they love.

Feature Friday: Habitat Heroes

Not all heroes wear capes. Some simply show up, lend a hand, and make a difference year after year.

Today, we’re recognizing Noah Summers, who has given many years of service to our ReStore. Noah has always been someone we can count on—a stand-up guy who is willing to help wherever he’s needed.

Thank you, Noah, for your dedication, your heart for serving others, and everything you continue to do for Habitat. We’re grateful to have you as one of our Habitat Heroes!

🏠 Behind every repair is a person who deserves to feel safe at home.

Today, our Critical Repair team visited the home of Mrs. Natalie Carmicheal for a job walk—and what we saw is a reality some of our neighbors right here in Smith County are living with every day.

Unsafe flooring and exposed, deteriorating surfaces have made simply moving through parts of her home a safety concern. Today, Danny Saenz, our Critical Repair Project Manager, and contractor Robert Brooks walked through the home, identified the repairs needed, and began preparing for the work ahead.

This is why we do what we do. A home should be a place of safety, comfort, and dignity—and through our Critical Repair Program, we're helping homeowners in our community remain safely in the places they call home.

These photos are only the beginning of Mrs. Carmicheal's story.

💙 Mission Monday 🏠

Fresh paint and another step closer to home! This past Saturday, longtime friends and Habitat homeowners Deanna Gordon, Dave Leming, and Vicky Castleberry helped paint the interior walls at 1723 W. Jackson Street.

We’re so grateful for their continued support, along with Meocha Hudson, who was part of the team supporting the effort. ❤️ A special thank you to Steve Pep for coordinating the day and bringing everyone together!

We’re thankful for all our volunteers who give their time and talents to help make our mission possible!
