We are thrilled to recognize Zander Garcia as Dixie Elementary’s Student of the Month! Zander is an exceptional third-grade student who truly embodies what it means to be a Dixie Dragon. He is a high-achieving student, a natural leader, a loyal friend, and a young man who brings positivity and enthusiasm wherever he goes.
Zander has an incredible love for learning, especially when it comes to Science. He gets genuinely excited when a new science unit begins and is always eager to discover something new. One of the things that makes Zander so special is his ability to connect new learning with the knowledge he already has. He loves sharing interesting facts with his classmates and teachers, and his enthusiasm often makes those around him excited to learn as well. His curiosity, questioning, and excitement for new topics make him a wonderful contributor to classroom discussions.
Zander is also an outstanding writer and creative thinker. As a member of the Creative Writing Team, he has demonstrated an impressive ability to develop original ideas and bring them to life through his writing. He has a wonderful imagination and is not afraid to think outside the box. His creativity, strong writing skills, and willingness to share his ideas are just another example of the many talents he brings to our campus.
Academically, Zander consistently strives for excellence. He takes pride in his work, challenges himself, and demonstrates the perseverance and determination of a high-achieving student. At the same time, he never loses sight of the importance of helping others. Zander genuinely enjoys helping his classmates and is always willing to offer support, encouragement, or a helping hand. He is the kind of student who wants everyone around him to be successful.
Zander is also a natural leader. He takes initiative, demonstrates independence, and can be trusted with important responsibilities. He has the confidence and maturity to step up when something needs to be done, and he often demonstrates the ability to help keep the classroom running smoothly. His leadership comes naturally because his classmates know they can count on him.
Beyond his academic accomplishments, Zander has a personality that makes him truly special. He is friendly, social, and incredibly likeable. He has many friends and builds positive relationships with those around him. He has a genuine ability to connect with people and makes others feel comfortable in his presence.
Zander’s interactions with adults are especially impressive. He is respectful, mature, and thoughtful. He makes a point to greet adults when he sees them, and his greetings are sincere. He doesn't simply say hello—he often takes the time to ask how someone is doing and genuinely checks in with them. Zander is a wonderful conversationalist and demonstrates confidence, kindness, and respect when communicating with adults.
Most importantly, Zander consistently demonstrates the character we want to see in a Dixie Dragon. He is kind. He is curious. He is respectful. He is responsible. He is creative. He is a leader. He works hard, celebrates others, and brings a positive energy to our school each day.
Zander, we are so proud of you! Your love of learning, creativity, leadership, kindness, and genuine care for others make you an outstanding representative of Dixie Elementary. You have earned this recognition, and we are excited to celebrate you as our Student of the Month!

Mrs. Cardenas consistently goes above and beyond to support, encourage, and inspire our students. She has a remarkable ability to make every child feel seen, valued, and capable, and the positive impact she has on our Dixie students reaches far beyond the classroom.
One of the many ways Mrs. Cardenas connects with students is through Art. She uses creativity as a way to engage students, build their confidence, and give them a meaningful way to express themselves. She recognizes that every child has unique talents and works hard to provide opportunities for those talents to shine. Her dedication to showcasing student artwork and celebrating their accomplishments has helped many of our Dixie students gain recognition and win awards. More importantly, she teaches students that their creativity matters and that they have something special to contribute.
Mrs. Cardenas is also a wonderful example of patience, particularly when working with elementary-aged students. Anyone who works with elementary children knows that they are still learning how to manage emotions, communicate their needs, solve problems, and navigate relationships. Mrs. Cardenas meets students where they are. She doesn't rush them, give up on them, or define them by a difficult moment. Instead, she patiently listens, redirects, encourages, and gives students the time and support they need to be successful. Her calm and compassionate approach helps children feel safe enough to learn from their mistakes and try again.
This patience is especially meaningful for our bilingual students. Mrs. Cardenas understands that language can sometimes be a barrier to confidence and participation, and she makes an intentional effort to support students as they develop their English language skills. She is patient when students are searching for the right words, encourages them to communicate without fear of making mistakes, and finds ways to make learning accessible and engaging. She celebrates their progress and helps them understand that their home language and culture are strengths, not obstacles. Her encouragement gives bilingual students the confidence to participate, take risks, and know that their voices are important.
Perhaps one of Mrs. Cardenas's greatest gifts is her ability to build relationships with students who are struggling. She has a special way of connecting with children who may have difficulty trusting adults, managing their emotions, or feeling successful at school. Rather than simply focusing on the behavior, Mrs. Cardenas takes the time to understand the child behind it. She develops relationships built on trust, consistency, patience, and genuine care. For some students, she becomes a safe space—someone they know will listen to them, believe in them, and continue to encourage them even when they are having a difficult day.
Mrs. Cardenas's positive influence begins before the school day even gets started. She is often one of the first smiling faces our students see in the morning, greeting them with warmth and enthusiasm and helping set a positive tone for their day. At the end of the day, she continues that encouragement, loading our students up with positive messages as they head home. Those seemingly small interactions can make an enormous difference to a child. A kind greeting, an encouraging word, or a reminder that someone believes in them can completely change the way a student experiences their day.
Mrs. Cardenas does not simply teach Art; she teaches confidence, perseverance, creativity, kindness, and belonging. She sees potential in students who may not yet see it in themselves. She celebrates their successes, supports them through their challenges, and consistently reminds them that they are capable.
Our students are fortunate to have a teacher who invests so much of her heart into their success. Mrs. Cardenas represents what it means to be an exceptional elementary educator. Her patience, creativity, compassion, dedication to bilingual learners, and commitment to building meaningful relationships make her an invaluable member of our school community.

We are so incredibly lucky to have Natalia Khongsaengdao as part of our Dixie family! We are thrilled that we were able to “grab her up” this school year because she has already made such a meaningful impact on our students and staff. Natalia brings an incredible work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for education to everything she does.
Natalia is currently pursuing her education with the goal of becoming a teacher, and it is clear that teaching is more than a career goal for her—it is her passion. You can see that passion in the way she interacts with students, supports their learning, and looks for opportunities to make a difference. She approaches each day ready to learn, help, and grow, and she is already developing the skills and relationships that will make her an outstanding educator.
In a short amount of time, Natalia has built wonderful relationships with our students. She has a natural ability to connect with kids and make them feel comfortable, supported, and valued. Whether she is helping a student understand an assignment, encouraging someone who is having a difficult day, or simply taking the time to listen, Natalia makes students feel like they matter. Those relationships are one of the most important parts of being an effective educator, and Natalia is already showing how naturally that comes to her.
Natalia has also been incredible at filling the gaps wherever she is needed. She doesn't wait to be asked to help. She notices what needs to be done and jumps in. Whether it is supporting a classroom, helping a student, assisting a teacher, stepping in during a transition, or taking on an unexpected task, Natalia consistently goes above and beyond. Her willingness to help wherever she is needed has made her an invaluable member of our team.
Her hard work and dependability do not go unnoticed. Natalia gives her best effort even when the day is busy, the needs are high, or the task isn't easy. She approaches challenges with a "we'll figure it out" attitude and never hesitates to put in the extra effort to make sure our students are supported. She is the kind of person who sees a need and takes care of it rather than walking past it.
What makes Natalia especially deserving of this recognition is that she understands that working in education is about so much more than completing a list of responsibilities. It is about showing up for kids. It is about patience, encouragement, consistency, teamwork, and building relationships. Natalia brings those qualities with her every single day.
Although she is still early in her educational career, Natalia is already making a difference. She is learning from the teachers around her, gaining valuable experience, and discovering what it truly means to be an educator. At the same time, she is sharing her own energy, ideas, kindness, and enthusiasm with our school community.
We are so excited to watch Natalia continue to grow and pursue her dream of becoming a teacher. We know that the students she eventually teaches will be incredibly fortunate to have someone who cares as deeply as she does.
Congratulations to Natalia Khongsaengdao, our Para of the Month! We are so thankful you chose to be part of our Dixie family. Your hard work, heart for students, willingness to jump in, and passion for education have already made a lasting impact. We are truly lucky to have you on our team!
