From James Talarico: Billionaire Tim Dunn’s super PAC unleashed their first six-figure expenditure against me.
If you don’t know that name, that’s because most politicians and reporters in Texas are afraid to talk about him.
He is part of a pair of West Texas billionaires who are trying to turn Texas — and now the federal government — into an authoritarian, Christian Nationalist state. They do it by buying politicians, and there’s almost no politician more in their pocket than Ken Paxton.
I’m humbly asking you to contribute $5 to fight back against the billionaire-funded super PACs attacking me. We cannot let their dark money lies go unanswered. https://secure.actblue.com/donate/jt-em-2026q3?akid=831.42711.WrJUKf&c0=jt-em-2026q3.4aY9fb&rd=1&refcode=em260808-1-ak&refcode2=831_42711_WrJUKf&t=3
Tim Dunn is directly responsible for much of the most harmful and headline-making legislation that’s come out of Texas, including the 10 Commandments bill, private school vouchers, and the most extreme abortion ban in the country.
He’s foaming at the mouth to install Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate. When Ken Paxton was impeached by Republicans, it was Tim Dunn and his buddy Farris Wilks who helped secure his acquittal with $3 million in donations to their puppet politicians who presided over the case in the state senate.
Tim Dunn and Farris Wilks are not just billionaire mega-donors — they’re also Christian Nationalist pastors. I know billionaire-pastor sounds like an oxymoron, but on Sunday mornings these two billionaires preach a toxic theology of power and control.
Their ultimate goal is to transform Texas and then the United States into an authoritarian, Christian Nationalist state. They are buying think tanks and media outlets, and they see this race as their chance to take a massive foothold in federal politics.
I know this sounds alarmist, but that is the goal of these billionaire pastors.
I’ve known this money would be coming at us. They’ve had a target on my back since the moment I was bold enough to name them publicly.
James is running for Senate to take on billionaires and their puppet politicians.
