On Thursday, July 23, 2025 at approximately 4:11pm, the Walthall County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to shots fired at a residence on Oak Grove Rd. Officers responded to the scene and discovered the shots had been fired from a vehicle. Officers collected evidence and gathered a vehicle description. Once a vehicle description was obtained, a BOLO was issued to surrounding agencies for the vehicle.

At approximately 5:30pm, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the city of Magnolia. During the traffic stop, Pike County officers located and seized multiple fi****ms and controlled substances from the vehicle. Five individuals are being held in the Pike County Jail and are being questioned by Walthall County investigators.

The Walthall County Sheriff’s Office greatly appreciates Sheriff Wally Jones and his officers for their assistance in the apprehension of these individuals.

Non-emergency calls have been directed back to our agency.

IMPORTANT:
We are currently experiencing difficulties with our non-emergency lines. All non-emergency calls are being redirected to Marion County Sheriff's Office.

This DOES NOT affect 911 lines.

Please be patient with us as we work to resolve this issue in a timely manner.

Public Service Announcement: We have had several Road signs stolen, damaged, or knocked down, through out the County. These signs are expensive. The Supervisors do all they can to fix our roads but could do more if they did not have to replace road signs. A STOP sign that has been knocked down or stolen could mean life or death at an intersection. If caught, you will pay a fine and possibly receive jail time. We should respect our county more than this ! Sheriff Kyle Breland
