🚨 Traffic & Parking Update – 2026 Dairy Festival 🚨
πŸ“… Saturday, June 6, 2026
πŸ“ Tylertown, MS

Please take note of an important traffic and parking update for this year’s Walthall County Dairy Festival. To ensure a safe and efficient experience for all attendees, ALL festival traffic must enter via Highway 48 East at the Event Center entrance, following the same traffic pattern used last year.

πŸ”Ή No public entry will be permitted at the front entrance of Holmes Water Park.
πŸ”Ή The front entrance will be reserved for emergency and official use only – including Police, Fire, EMS, and traffic control.
πŸ”Ή All attendees – including vendors, car show participants, and guests – must use the Event Center entrance.
πŸ”Ή Handicap parking will be located on A Field and accessed from the Event Center side.
πŸ”Ή Vendors will enter near the playground and be directed to their assigned setup areas.

πŸ…ΏοΈ Inside the park parking will be utilized by vendors only, allowing them closer access to their setup locations and helping eliminate unnecessary vehicle traffic throughout the day.
πŸš— All other guests will park in the Event Center parking area or on a nearby ball field as directed.

⏰ Vendor setup must be completed by 7:30 AM.
After this time, vehicle traffic will be restricted inside the park until the festival concludes and takedown begins.

🚫 Reminder: No pets are allowed inside the festival grounds. This policy helps ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all guests.

Please help us spread the word early so everyone knows. Your cooperation is vital in making this traffic flow plan a success. We look forward to a safe, smooth, and fun-filled festival for all!

Thank you,
Tylertown Police Department

Parking Reminder – Walthall General Hospital

It has been brought to our attention that parking during lunch hours at Walthall General Hospital needs to be addressed.

All marked areas, including β€œNo Parking” and β€œKeep Clear” zones, must be strictly observed. Vehicles must not block ambulance bays, the helipad, fire hydrants, or any emergency access points.

Please be advised that vehicles parked in violation of these restrictions are subject to towing.

There are multiple designated parking areas around the hospital available for public use. We ask that everyone be mindful and respectful to ensure emergency services can operate without delay.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping keep our community safe.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Defendant to be Transferred to Federal Custody Following State Court Plea

District Attorney Brendon Adams announced today that Edwin Rigoberto Orocco Ramirez will be transferred to federal custody following the resolution of charges in Walthall County Circuit Court.

Ramirez, who had been held in the Walthall County Jail, entered a plea to Touching a Child for Lustful Purposes in Walthall County Circuit Court where he received a 15 year sentence, suspended. The sentence was structured to allow for the prompt transfer of Ramirez into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) so that federal immigration proceedings can move forward without delay.

District Attorney Brendon Adams stated that the resolution of the state case was handled in context of the federal warrant to ensure that the Defendant is held accountable under federal immigration law.

β€œOur office works diligently to be good stewards of local, state and federal resources to ensure that justice is served and defendants are held accountable for their crimes,” said Adams. β€œThough sentences may seem unique at times, our office operates strategically and tactically to ensure that our communities remain safe for our families to live, work and worship.”

We commend all the witnesses, officers and investigators that worked to make this case a success for our justice system.
