Tyonek Volunteer Fire Department Join us as we continue to grow into a professional fire department. Our members recently passed their Basic Firefighter and ETT exam.

Twice a week we train on Deployment, Drafting and Discharge, and once a week Nikiski Fire Department will send someone over to train and monitor our progress. In August our Volunteers Firefighters passed their basic Fire Fighter Exam. Our EMS Services has State Certified EMTs, ETTs, Community Health aids, and a Community Health clinic (complete with lab, 10 admin offices which include Behavior Health and Rural Alcohol Coordinator with on-call emergency staff. Our service area (with assistance from Nikiski Fire Department, if needed) covers over 172 square miles. Beluga, Granite Point and Tyonek. Nikiski Fire Department Loans us Equipment for our EMS Department. They ship via barge from Nikiski.
