Hey, Tyrone!
As Murphy's law would have it, there is a pretty good chance of rain this Saturday. Please know that Founders Day is a "RAIN OR SHINE" event that will only shut down with an immediate threat of lightning or severe weather. We are monitoring the weather and will post with updates as needed. Please share this announcement with your friends and family! We want to get the word out as much as possible. If you have additional questions or concerns, please notify us at the Recreation Center Offices at 770-487-4694.

Georgia law Georgia Code § 40-6-20 requires drivers to use their headlights from 30 minutes after sunset until 30 minutes before sunrise, as well as during other conditions when visibility is reduced.

🌧️ Rain, fog, smoke, or other conditions that limit visibility? Turn them on!

Headlights aren’t just for helping you see—they’re also about helping others SEE YOU. 👀

A simple reminder: If you can’t clearly see others, there’s a good chance they can’t clearly see you.

🚔 Back to School Starts August 3! 🚌📚

The first day of school for Fayette County students is August 3, and that means more children will be walking, biking, and riding school buses throughout our community.

Please help keep our students safe by slowing down, staying alert, and eliminating distractions while driving—especially in school zones and neighborhoods.

🛑 Remember Georgia’s School Bus Laws (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-163):
• Drivers meeting or following a stopped school bus with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended must stop.
• Drivers approaching from the opposite direction on an undivided roadway must also stop.
• On a roadway divided by a physical barrier or unpaved median, traffic traveling in the opposite direction is not required to stop.

These laws are in place to protect our children as they get on and off the bus.

Let’s work together to make this a safe and successful school year for every student. Please drive responsibly and watch for our youth.
