The City of Uhrichsville is accepting applications for a Civil Service Entrance Exam to fill two current openings with the Uhrichsville Police Department.

To apply, you must be:

A United States Citizen
High School Graduate or equivalent
21 years of age before appointment
*You may take the Civil Service Entry Exam at age 20 but must be 21 years of age to be hired. This will be considered when screening the applications as the Police Department wishes to hire an officer as soon as possible.

Candidates must possess a current OPOTA Certification before appointment. An honorably discharged veteran must provide a copy of their discharge papers to receive a military test credit.

Individuals between the ages of 21 and 35 are to be considered eligible to take the Police Civil Service Entry Exam. An Individual having had previous police experience may increase the maximum age of employment by one (1) year for every full year of prior police service.

The Civil Service Entry Exam will be given to those eligible for hiring by the city if meeting the normal qualification requirements for police officers.

Candidates must achieve a passing score of 70 on the written exam. Upon consideration for employment, candidates are required to submit to a background check, physical, polygraph, and psychological testing in addition to an interview.

Applications can be picked up at the Uhrichsville Mayor’s Office at 305 East Second Street, Uhrichsville, OH 44683, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or at the Uhrichsville Police Department. Applications and/or resumes must be returned in-person to the Mayor’s Office or the Uhrichsville Police Department. We will be accepting applications until the position is filled.

Starting pay is $25.47 and will increase to $26.66 after the first year.
