The world can be a noisy place, and sometimes the library too! If you are looking for a quiet place to study, attend an online meeting, or take a test, many of our libraries now offer private study pods which you can reserve and use for FREE!
Equipped with LED lighting, height-adjustable desk, USB A+C ports, outlets, a locking door, and continuous air ventilation, our Study Booth will give you the quiet time you need to get your tasks done without disruption.
These booths are ADA-accessible and can fit up to 2 people comfortably. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

UPDATE AUGUST 5, 2024: Water has been restored and the restrooms are open.

Water Leak at Low Gap Park, Restrooms Temporarily Closed

A large water leak was identified at Low Gap Park on July 31, 2024. The water to the entire park has been shut off and the restrooms have been closed while the County works with contractors to make necessary repairs. Further updates regarding a timeline for repair and alternative restroom facilities will be forthcoming.

Bower Park Restoration and Improvement Grant Update:

The County and Atlas Tree Surgery have commenced the hazardous tree removal project at Bower Park. The work officially began on July 2, 2024 and the contractor has up to 60 days to complete the work. The work is moving quickly and the contractor is ahead of schedule. More information about when the contractor will be complete and the park will be re-opened to be posted soon. In the meantime, the County and Integra worked through all of the public comments and survey results and prepared two Site Plan alternatives for public review and comment. The two Site Plan alternatives have been posted in the survey and we are asking for feedback on amenities between the two Site Plan alternatives. Your comments and feedback will direct the selection of the preferred park master plan, which will then be presented to the County for final approval and then the preferred park master plan will provide direction for construction plans for Bower Park.

The survey link for the two master plan options has been posted and distributed. The community is encouraged to distribute the survey and make sure to fill out the survey themselves. The survey will close on July 31, 2024 to enable the project to continue on schedule. The final Bower Park Master Plan will be posted online once approved.

In the meantime, the environmental review and analysis is being conducted by the Integra team. Biologists, cultural scientists and historical experts will be reviewing all features of Bower Park and then will analyze the proposed improvements in the final Bower Park Master Plan.

The final design process will begin in late August and go through early 2025. Bidding for the improvements will occur in Spring, 2025 and construction will commence in early Summer, 2025 and be finished by end of 2025.

The State of California Budget Act 2022/23 includes several key investments in parks and open spaces. Mendocino County has been allocated $2,200,000 from monies set aside for local assistance grants.
