Help keep Mendocino County safe—fire threatens more than the mountains; it affects all our communities. Donate to keep the Aerial Fire Patrol flying and detecting wildfires early.
Why it matters
• California’s oldest and only aerial fire patrol — celebrating 75 years of continuous service (1950–2025).
• Flies up to 6 hours/day, 7 days/week during fire season (typically late May–November).
• Since 1950: helped identify nearly 1,100 fires.
• 2025: flew 536 hours and made 7 first reports.
• Early detection supports rapid response and helps meet the goal of keeping 95% of fires at 10 acres or less.
