So sad!!!

Today, we say goodbye to a true champion for children.

First 5 Mendocino is deeply grateful for the life and legacy of Dolly Parton, whose generosity, kindness, and belief in the power of children’s imaginations touched millions of young lives.

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, children have been given the gift of books and the joy of reading. Her commitment to making books accessible to young children has made a lasting difference in families and communities around the world.

Thank you, Dolly, for believing that every child deserves a book, a story, and the chance to imagine what’s possible.

We’ve received questions about why CASA continues fundraising and requesting donations following CALCASA’s $20 million award.

We are grateful for this funding and the support it will provide to CASA programs across California. However, the funding will be divided among 44 CASA programs, and our portion is not expected until approximately January. It will help strengthen our finances, but it will not fully fund our program for an entire year.

Until then, we remain committed to keeping our program strong and ensuring the children and youth we serve continue to have dedicated advocates by their side. With changes in federal funding and fewer grant opportunities available, the continued support of our community is more important than ever.

đź’™ Our annual fundraiser and donations help us continue providing a consistent voice and dedicated advocacy for the children and youth we serve.

Thank you for standing with CASA and helping us continue this important work!

$20 may seem small. The impact isn't.
