Yesterday we enjoyed presenting our Age Well, Drive Smart senior driver education program in Fort Bragg.

This program is designed to help senior drivers stay safe, confident, and independent on the road by providing valuable information on age-related driving changes, updated traffic laws, safe driving habits, and resources available to older drivers.

We appreciate everyone who attended and participated in the discussion. Community education plays an important role in keeping our roadways safe for drivers of all ages.

A special thank you to the Fort Bragg Senior Center for inviting us to present and for helping make this event possible. We also encourage community members to look for upcoming Age Well, Drive Smart presentations at the Ukiah and Willits Senior Centers in the future. We were proud to attend another California State Parks Helper Day at beautiful Big River Beach in Mendocino!

This special community event gave students the opportunity to meet local first responders and get an up-close look at the tools, equipment, and patrol vehicles we use to help keep our communities safe every day. From patrol cars to rescue equipment, attendees were able to learn more about the teamwork and partnerships that help protect California both on and off the roadway.

Thank you to California State Parks for hosting another great event and to everyone who stopped by to say hello, ask questions, and support your local first responders. We always enjoy connecting with our community!

🚓 We’re out at the 2026 Willits Car & Bike Show today in downtown Willits! 🚓

Stop by the CHP Ukiah Area booth to say hello, check out our patrol vehicle, and talk with officers about traffic safety and CHP careers.

There are hundreds of amazing vehicles, live music, food vendors, activities, and fun for the whole family happening throughout the day!

We’re here until 3 PM and look forward to seeing everyone out enjoying this great community event.

CHP Ukiah truly enjoyed seeing everyone who came out to support Potter Valley’s Memorial Day Parade, a wonderful hometown celebration that brings the community together to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Today, CHP Ukiah was proud to participate in the Pomolita Middle School Career Fair!

The fair routinely brings together dozens of local professionals and community members who set up booths to share insights into their daily jobs and career paths. We enjoyed speaking with students about careers in law enforcement, traffic safety, and the many opportunities available within the CHP.

Thank you to Pomolita Middle School for inviting us to be part of such a great event and helping inspire the next generation as they explore future career possibilities.

🚨 HOLIDAY ENFORCEMENT PERIOD 🚓
The CHP Ukiah Area will be conducting a Holiday Enforcement Period (HEP) beginning Friday, May 22, at 6:00 p.m. and continuing through Monday, May 25, at 11:59 p.m.
During this enforcement period, CHP officers will be on patrol throughout Mendocino County, focusing on reckless driving, unsafe speeds, impaired driving, and seat belt violations to help keep our roadways safe for everyone traveling this holiday weekend.

Last night, CHP officers conducted a DUI arrest near the courthouse in Ukiah after contacting a driver showing signs of impairment.
Driving under the influence endangers everyone on the roadway and continues to be one of the leading causes of preventable crashes. CHP reminds all motorists to plan ahead if alcohol is involved — designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, or call for a safe ride home.
Make responsible choices and help keep Mendocino County roads safe.
