2026 Blueberry (and Berry!) Bash Update

Unalaska’s blueberry yield might be a bit lower this year, but the Bash goes on! To make participation easier—and more fun—we wanted to tweak and clarify rules for the 2026 event:

The "Store-Bought" Exemption: Store-bought blueberries are fully approved for all 2026 recipe submissions.
The Local Forager Rule: Expand your horizons! Crowberries, nagoon berries, and other local Unalaska berries are now eligible to bolster your dishes.

The terms?
Just tell us your secret. When presenting your dish, simply state your berry mix and whether you used store-bought. We are excited to see if we can taste the difference!

Kids in grades K – 5 are invited to the library for Art Club this Saturday, 9/19 at 1pm. This week we will explore pop art with paint and color mixing, so wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy!

We’re trying out this free drop-in program one Saturday per month in the fall. Children ages 7 and younger must be supervised by an adult during the program. Siblings are welcome, and adults are welcome to participate, too! Art is good for everyone. 😊

Call the library with any questions: (907) 581-5060.
