Last week marked National Police Week, a time to recognize and honor law enforcement officers across the country.

The Unalaska Police Department would like to acknowledge and thank Police Chief Kim Hankins, Sgt. Bliss, Sgt. Chapman, Acting Sgt. Malaki, Officer Govea, Officer Atonio, Officer Hilling, Officer Fiser, Officer Gumera, and Officer Wiltfong for their continued dedication, professionalism, and service to the City of Unalaska.

Law enforcement in a remote community comes with unique challenges and responsibilities, and these officers work around the clock to protect and assist our residents, visitors, and fellow responders. Their commitment to public safety and willingness to serve our community does not go unnoticed.

National Police Week also serves as a time to honor and remember the officers across the nation who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Thank you to the law enforcement personnel of the Unalaska Police Department for your service and commitment to our community.
