Congratulations Anthony!
Your service to the church is truly appreciated!!

The God-Protected Russian Orthodox Diocese of Sitka and Alaska is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Deacon Anthony Lekanof as Communications Secretary for the Diocese.

With the blessing of His Eminence, Archbishop Alexei, Deacon Anthony will assist in coordinating diocesan communications, media relations, public outreach, photography, videography, and further enhancing relationships with non-native and Alaska Native organizations. In this role, he will work closely with clergy, parish communities, and diocesan institutions to strengthen communication efforts and highlight the life and ministry of the Russian Orthodox Church across Alaska.

A lifelong Alaskan and member of the Aleut people, Deacon Anthony brings extensive experience in communications and community engagement. He previously served as Media Secretary for St. Herman Orthodox Theological Seminary and currently serves on the boards of The Aleut Corporation and St. George Tanaq Corporation.

As Communications Secretary, Deacon Anthony will support the mission of the Diocese by sharing the stories of the faithful, documenting Archpastoral visits and events, and helping connect Orthodox communities across the vast expanse of Alaska.

The Diocese asks the faithful to keep Deacon Anthony in their prayers as he undertakes this responsibility in service to Christ and His Holy Church.
