FAZIO FAKES DEMOCRATIC SUPPORT IN NEW AD

Easton Democrats were surprised yesterday to see a familiar face featured in Ryan Fazio’s new “Democrats for Fazio” ad: Darrell Harris — Chair of the Easton Republican Town Committee, Republican nominee for the 135th House District, and a member of the Connecticut Republican Assembly, a conservative organization aligned with the MAGA movement.

We’re only two days into the general election, and Fazio is already misleading Connecticut voters.

Fazio launched the 30-second ad featuring purported Democrats supporting his campaign, promoting it on social media with the message: “I’m a Democrat and I’m voting for Ryan Fazio.”

The problem? At least two of the four people featured as “Democrats” are actually Republicans.

Republicans supporting a Republican candidate isn’t exactly breaking news. But presenting Republicans as Democrats to manufacture the appearance of bipartisan support is misleading.

Connecticut voters deserve honesty. If Ryan Fazio wants to claim Democrats are crossing party lines to support him, he should start by finding actual Democrats.
