🚨 TRAINING DRILL —NO EMERGENCY 🚨

If you see fire, ambulance, and law enforcement presence around City Hall area between approximately 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM, please know that this is only a training exercise/drill.

Our responders will be using this opportunity to practice working together in a realistic scenario.

🚒🚑👮 Please stay back, avoid the area if possible, and give our responders plenty of space to safely perform their training.

With a high heat index and dry conditions, the risk of heat-related illness and grass fires is much higher.

🚑 Heat Safety Reminder ☀️

The summer heat is coming this weekend, and so is the increased risk of heat-related illnesses.

Young children, older adults, and outdoor pets are especially vulnerable to dehydration and heat exhaustion.

💧 Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate. 💧

✔️ Drink water before you feel thirsty.
✔️ Take frequent breaks in the shade or air-conditioned areas.
✔️ Avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
✔️ Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a minute.
✔️ Make sure pets have plenty of fresh water and a cool, shaded place to rest.

If someone becomes confused, stops sweating, has a high body temperature, or loses consciousness, call 911 immediately. Heat stroke is a medical emergency.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and have a safe summer! ☀️🚑

Myron Schell Swimming Pool is the place to be this summer! A recent partnership allowed us to witness the pool staff's outstanding skills in emergency response and medical care, highlighting their commitment to safety. We conducted training on pool emergencies involving medical and trauma situations.
