The City would like to introduce Kattie Meek. She grew up outside of Underwood by Dead lake and went to school in Perham. Kattie worked at the Farmhouse Café for many years through high school, so she says this is like coming home for her. He husband Adam and she have 3 boys, 2 of which still attend Underwood School and are very active in afterschool activities. Adam and Kattie have a farm out by Phelps Mill with beef cattle, horses, chickens, dogs and rabbits which the boys have for 4-H. A few cold weather tips:
If your water comes in from the basement and it is not heated, use a space heater to keep the lines from freezing. Be careful if your clothes washer is also in the basement as those lines will freeze as well. If your home is on a slab, you may have to keep a faucet dripping a bit 24/7 until warmer weather. toilet lines can freeze as well. If you live in a trailer, try to keep some kind of heat light near the water line.
Water mains can break when the weather warms up and the ground starts to shift. Underwood is fairly lucky, but you never know. If you have a freeze-up or notice water in the streets, contact maintenance at 1-218-731-6843 and or the office. We can't help with freeze-ups in the home, but let us know anyway so we can keep track of things.
Thanks.
