The Erie County Land Bank is offering a FREE 7-week program designed to help homeowners and prospective homebuyers build confidence and learn important homeownership skills!

The program is FREE, but space is limited to 25 participants per class. Erie County residents may apply, with priority given to current homeowners and prospective homebuyers.

Union City Area Comprehensive Plan Survey 🏘️

Union City Borough and Union Township are working with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) to update our Joint Comprehensive Plan.

What is the survey for?
The survey gives residents, businesses, visitors, and community members a chance to share what they think is important for the future of our area. Your feedback will help identify community priorities, needs, and areas for improvement as we begin the planning process.

Whether you live in, work in, or visit Union City, we want to hear from you!

We’d especially love to have someone who can bring some fall favorites, such as:

We’re adding one more Farmers & Makers Market to our 2026 season, and we’re ending our first market season with a fun Fall & Halloween-themed event! 👻

Bring the family and enjoy:

👻 A trunk-or-treat style setup
🍬 Treats for the kids

Vendors will be encouraged to decorate their spaces and hand out candy, so we’re hoping to make this a fun event for everyone!

We’re excited to announce one last Farmers & Makers Market this year!

And this one is going to have a little extra fall fun! 🎃 We’re making our final market of the season Fall & Halloween themed, with a trunk-or-treat style setup for families to enjoy while they shop.

🏠 A REMINDER FOR UNION CITY RESIDENTS ABOUT DOOR-TO-DOOR SALES

We are continuing to receive calls from residents regarding salespeople going door-to-door throughout Union City, so I wanted to share a quick reminder to help keep everyone informed and safe.

If someone comes to your door offering to sell a product or service, don’t be afraid to ask to see their Borough Transient Retail Permit, also known as a “Peddler’s Permit.”

Under Union City Borough’s ordinance, anyone conducting door-to-door sales is required to have a valid permit and carry it with them while working in the Borough. They are also required to show it when requested by a resident.

The reason the Borough requires this licensing process is simple — your safety matters. Before a permit is issued, the Borough conducts an investigation that includes reviewing the applicant’s background, criminal record, reliability, and responsibility, as well as whether their activities could be a scam or pose a risk to the health and safety of our residents.

If someone comes to your door and cannot provide their Peddler’s Permit, please contact the Union City Police Department and the Union City Borough Office so we can help address the situation.
