The Veterans Advocacy Network is committed to empowering our Veteran families throughout Hudson and Bergen Counties through intensive client centered case management. At North Hudson we have a variety of resources that allow us to better serve Veteran households, some of those services include an in-house employment counselor, housing-tenant advocate, financial counselors, mental health facilities

, dental facilities, and the largest Federally Qualified Health Center in the state of New Jersey. We also have short term financial assistance (legal, child care, transportation, security payments, rental assistance, utility payments and moving costs) that may be available to eligible Veteran Families to assist in gaining housing stability and remain stably housed after this temporary assistance ends. To qualify,
-Individual/Head of household or his/her spouse must be a United States Veteran who served in active military, naval, or air service and discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.
-Individual/Family must fall below 50% of Area Median Income.
-Must be currently homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
-Must reside or plan to reside in Hudson or Bergen County. With only hours left in the New Year, The Division of Veteran Services and its partners have been working diligently to house our homeless veterans population. I want to acknowledge Dr. Sharon Bernstein for bringing this emotional and touching poem written by Mr. Norman Scott Rothfield. Mr. Rothfield works in Broward County, Florida and they too are fighting the good fight to ensure our veterans get permanent housing.

NO VETERAN SHOULD BE HOMELESS AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK HARD TO ENSURE OUR VETERANS GET THE SUPPORT THEY NEED TO OVERCOME CHALLENGES TO PERMANENT HOUSING!!!!

THANK YOU AND HAVE A SAFE AND A BLESSED NEW YEAR!!!!

Dear Veterans~
"Those of us who have not served. Will never fully understand the sacrifices you've made, both in times of peace and times of war.We will never fully understand what you were required to do or how you were able to do it.We will never fully understand the depth of your scars." But we can offer you this:
"We see you! We recognize your humanity. We send you love that is gentle, patient and healing. With blessings and gratitude,we ask that you remember you are loved". Author:UNKNOWN
