Good morning everyone… I had a rough night. Officers found me near the 600 block of West Ahtanum Road cold, scared, and all alone. Thankfully, they brought me somewhere safe where I was given a warm blanket, food, water, and a place to rest while they try to help me find my family.

Rudy has been contacted, alive and healthy. All is well, and this case is closed! We appreciate our communities willingness to get involved.

Officer Nunez is investigating a missing person case. Pictured is 67‑year‑old Rudolfo “Rudy” Perales. He was last seen in December 2025 in the area around the Mission, located at 1300 N 1st St in Yakima. Perales has family in the area who have not been able to locate him.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the Spaghetti Feed this Saturday from 4–7 p.m.! Remember, the event will be held at the Fire Station, located right across the street from the civic campus. Our new partners at Station 43 are bringing back an old-school classic recipe — and as the kids say, it’s fire.

Today, Officer Hinze had the opportunity to speak with the ladies of the Daughters of the American Revolution at the VFW in Yakima about our department’s drone capabilities and how this technology supports public safety efforts.

We always value the chance to connect with members of our community, share information, and provide insight into the tools and resources we use to serve and protect.

Today we had a special visitor hop into the department—none other than the Easter Bunny! 🐰🌷

Our officers and staff took a moment out of their day to share some smiles, snap a few photos, and celebrate the season together. It’s always great to enjoy these little moments that bring our team—and our community—closer.
