At our Class in the Garden, MG Gini Obert talked about soil temperatures for starting seeds. If you don’t have a soil thermometer, this is a great site to check for your area.

West Valley Food Garden is cooking along as our beautiful veggies are starting to take off! Unfortunately that means so are the weeds! But today’s three MG Volunteers tackled a lot of them. But we all know there will always be more weeds!

OSU is presenting a Live Zoom featuring Doug Tallamy!

If you don’t know Doug Tallamy you should check him out! He is an entomologist, ecologist and conservationist. He authored “Bring Nature Home” and “Nature’s Best Hope”.

His research examines how native and introduced plants differ in their ability to support insect herbivores and the animals that feed on them. His books argue that home gardeners can counter biodiversity loss by planting natives.

And if he sounds familiar but you can’t place him, he is a friend and popular guest of Joe Lamp’l of Grow a Greener World.
