CORRECTION: An earlier version of the June E-News stated that an upcoming Highway 45 road closure on June 8 was associated with a Wisconsin Department of Transportation resurfacing project.

The closure, anticipated to begin on or about June 8, is instead related to utility work and roadway improvements associated with construction of the new Union Grove-Yorkville Fire Station. Highway 45 is expected to be closed between 58th Road and Highway C. The work is being completed to accommodate emergency vehicle access to and from the station and to complete utility extensions serving the site.

The Village has not yet been provided with a final construction schedule, closure duration, or detour route. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.

This week, the Village of Union Grove is proud to recognize May 25–31 as Union Grove History Week.

We would like to thank History Seekers of the Union Grove Area for their continued dedication to preserving and sharing the stories, people, and places that helped shape our community. Since forming over a decade ago, the group has played an important role in keeping local history alive through exhibits, presentations, and community engagement.

We also want to recognize this year’s Leadership Union Grove class for their work creating historical plaques that will be installed at places of historical interest throughout the Village. These plaques will help residents and visitors learn more about the history behind some of the landmarks and locations that make Union Grove unique.

Thank you to the volunteers who continue to preserve, celebrate, and share the history of Union Grove for future generations.

Their efforts often go unnoticed, but their impact is seen throughout our community every day. Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and service to the residents of Union Grove!
