COMMUNITY NOTICE: EXERCISE YETI 2026
Racine County Emergency Management will host Exercise YETI 2026 on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the Racine County Fairgrounds. This is a planned training exercise and there is no threat to the public.
Exercise YETI is a large-scale, multi-agency exercise focused on the coordinated response to an active-threat, mass-casualty incident. Approximately 120 law enforcement, fire, EMS, emergency management, and healthcare personnel will participate.
The exercise will take place throughout the day. Most training activity will occur out of public view; however, residents in the area should expect to see a significant number of emergency vehicles in the area and may hear emergency sirens associated with the exercise.
There will be no road closures associated with the exercise. The Racine County Fairgrounds and Old Settlers Park will be closed to the public for the duration of the event.
Racine County Management has coordinated the exercise with the assistance of:

• Mount Pleasant Police Department
• South Shore Fire Department
• Caledonia Police Department
• Caledonia Fire Department
• Burlington Police Department
• Burlington Fire Department
• Union Grove - Yorkville Fire Department
• Racine County Communications Center
• Ascension Wisconsin
• Aurora Health Care
Exercise YETI gives local agencies the opportunity to train together before a real emergency occurs – strengthening coordinated efforts and the ability to rapidly provide lifesaving care during a large-scale incident.

There will be a designated media staging area at the Racine County Fairgrounds. The morning scenario will begin at approximately 10:00 a.m., and there will be another scenario in the afternoon.
