Leadership Union Grove Leadership Union Grove (LUG) is a community-based program dedicated to developing caring, concerned and committed leaders.

Leadership Union Grove was the first program of its kind in Southeastern Wisconsin. LUG benefits individuals who:
*Live and/or work in the Union Grove area and have an interest in the community.
*Want to grow both personally and professionally
*Want to sharpen their analytical and communication skills.
*Want to heighten their awareness of local issues. Leadership Union Grove helps prepare potential leaders and thus ensures a promising future for our community.

Our 2023/24 LUG class has started this last week. What a fun start to this class, professional photos, meet and greet and get to know each other Wednesday night, and then leadership training Thursday. Can’t wait to see how things progress with this class.

Last week our Leadership class was about Education and Media. We started the day out though with an awesome lesson from Dr. Russ Kincade. And then went on to have a lunch and a tour of the Union Grove high school. While we were eating lunch, we enjoyed the company of the few local elementary and high school principals. The leader ship class was able to ask them questions about their school and the programs they have to offer. Attached here is some pictures of our tour of the Union Grove High school. We ended the day with a media panel … where the class was able to discuss different media tools with local Union grove area media representatives. All in all it was a very “educational “ day.

Leadership Union Grove agricultural day earlier this month. They started the day off with a nice session with Dr. Russ Kincade again, proceeded to lunch at the Moyer farm, where they learned a lot of history of the local area. They were also able to visit UNCO company here in UG, an visit to Brightwoods orchard and Lois family farm. All in all a fun filled day for our participants.

Our second day of opening retreat…
Started out with a great lesson from Dr. Russ Kincade in the morning. Followed by our lunch break and introduction of the rest of the leader ship board, along with an understanding of their future class project. The rest of the afternoon was filled with ice breakers and get to know your classmates ran by Neil Buchanan.. He did a great job keeping them going and understanding the reasoning behind teamwork.
