🚒 Training Highlights – Spring 2026 🚒
Our Sikorsky team has been hard at work this spring sharpening critical skills through both ARFF and firefighter rescue training evolutions.
In April 2026, personnel traveled to the Port Charlotte County, Florida Training Academy to complete advanced Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) training. Crews trained in live-fire aircraft scenarios, focusing on:
🔥 High-volume fire attack and suppression
✈️ Aircraft familiarization and hazard recognition
💧 Foam application and incident control strategies
🤝 Coordinated team operations under real-world conditions
The hands-on training provided valuable experience operating in high-heat, high-risk environments while reinforcing the importance of precision, communication, and coordination.
During the last week of May 2026, crews conducted Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training at the RMF / Sikorsky Fire Station, focusing on firefighter survival and rescue operations, including:
🚧 Confined space and restricted opening rescues
🧭 Low-profile and entanglement navigation
📢 MAYDAY response and firefighter down scenarios
🚒 Coordinated RIT deployment and team integration
These evolutions tested physical endurance, technical proficiency, and teamwork—ensuring our personnel are fully prepared to respond when it matters most.
✅ From ARFF response on the flight line to firefighter rescue operations inside structures, our commitment remains the same: train hard, stay ready, and bring everyone home.
Great work by all personnel involved in planning, instruction, and participation.
