The first round late Friday night through Saturday morning will be conditional as storms may struggle to form, but those that do form will be in a very favorable environment for tornadoes (potentially a strong tornado), large hail, and damaging winds. This is especially of concern given the overnight time frame. An outbreak of severe storms is then expected Saturday afternoon into early Sunday morning. Risks include strong, potentially long-track tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds. Winds will also be gusty ahead of the storms Saturday afternoon and evening.



Changes from previous forecast: Moderate Risk expanded to include the entire area on Saturday. Timing adjusted slightly for the first round Friday night.



Friday Night through Saturday Morning: Level 1 Marginal Risk to Level 3 Enhanced Risk



Where:

· All but southeast Central Alabama

When:

· 11 PM Friday night through 8 AM Saturday morning

Threats:

· Tornadoes (potential for a strong tornado)

· Quarter size hail

· Damaging winds up to 60 mph

Currently I am out of town for a family event, but I would like thank all the first responders for aiding Bullock County with the fire in downtown Union Springs. I will be back in the morning to do damage assessment and clean up preparation. Thanks again to everyone involved.

During the cold weather we opened the Bullock County Courthouse as a warming station. We were able serve 9 people total. Five of them were a group of teens traveling from Birmingham to Orlando. They had a wreck and we provided them with cots and blankets to sleep on, food, and shelter until there parents arrived the next day. One of the parents sent me a thank you message to our County for going above and beyond for their children. This is THANK YOU from me to
everyone involved for the work done during the snow storm. Great job everyone!
